At Cross Valley FCU, the safety of your accounts and your identity are our top priority. Your transactions are monitored in real time and are subject to specialized fraud filters.

It is important to remember that you should always take extra care in monitoring your account. Should you discover any unauthorized transactions, or anything that seems suspicious, report them to us immediately. If suspect transactions are found during the Credit Union's non-business hours, you may still call (570) 823-6836 and you will be directed to Cross Valley FCUs Fraud Protection Center.

To further ensure your account security, Cross Valley FCU currently offers all members the free added benefit of our Fraud Detection Service. If a suspicious transaction is flagged on your account, you will receive a phone call asking you to verify this purchase. This service helps to secure your account safety, while also decreasing the chance of fraudulent transactions. Please be sure you provide one of Cross Valley FCU’s member representatives with a best phone number to reach you at.

Cross Valley FCU receives updates from Mastercard© regarding any new data breaches that have occurred. Once we receive an update, we will notify all members who have been affected by letter.

Introducing CardValet© ! Payment cards offer both convenience and risk. CardValet manages this risk by allowing you to define when, where, and how your cards can be used. You can turn your card off when not in use, set alerts to advise you when your card is used, and even set controls that limit where and for what amounts the card can be used. IF YOU ARE A VICTIM OF IDENTITY THEFT, TAKE ACTION NOW

  • Place a fraud alert on your credit file by contacting a major credit reporting bureau: Trans Union (800) 680-7289, Experian (888) 397-3742, or Equifax (888) 766-0008. The other bureaus will be notified and will place alerts on their files. Free reports will be sent to you

  • Alert affected businesses over the phone and in writing. Close tampered accounts or those opened without your consent

  • File a police report. Ask for a copy of the report too – you may need it for businesses requiring proof of the crime

  • Report the crime to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau

THE LIFELOCK MEMBER COMMUNICATION EXPERIENCE

Enrolling in a LifeLock with Norton Benefit Plans membership is an important step in helping to protect your identity. After completing enrollment, your information is provided to LifeLock and your membership is activated. You will receive a 'welcome' email from which you can access and set up your Member Portal. This is where you must enter any personal information you want LifeLock to monitor. From time to time, you will also receive emails from us about how to get the most from your LifeLock membership.

IDENTITY ALERT†

LifeLock monitors your information for a wide range of threats, and will alert you† by phone number, email, text or mobile app if we detect potentially suspicious activity. If you become a victim of identity theft, a dedicated U.S.-based Identity Restoration Specialist will work with you from start to finish to help fix the issue. LifeLock helps protect you with our Million Dollar ProtectionTM Package which includes reimbursement for stolen funds and coverage for personal expenses–each with limits up to $1 million–and coverage for lawyers and experts if needed, to help resolve your case.††

IDENTITY ALERT EXAMPLE

You can review current and past alerts in your Member Portal. To view the details of any alert, simply click on that specific item. If you have not previously responded, you can also see the details of the alert and respond.

BENEFIT ELITE PLUS AND PREMIUM

If the LifeLock plan that you have elected includes credit application alerts2, credit reports, scores or credit monitoring features1, there may be additional steps upon login that will need to be completed in order to activate these features. The credit scores provided are VantageScore 3.0 credit scores based on data from Equifax, Experian and TransUnion respectively. Any One-Bureau VantageScore mentioned is based on Equifax data only. Third parties use many different types of credit scores and are likely to use a different type of credit score to assess your creditworthiness.

1 If your LifeLock plan includes credit reports, scores, and/or credit monitoring features ("Credit Features"), two requirements must be met to receive said features: (i) your identity must be successfully verified with Equifax; and (ii) Equifax must be able to locate your credit file and it must contain sufficient credit history information. IF EITHER OF THE FOREGOING REQUIREMENTS ARE NOT MET YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE CREDIT FEATURES FROM ANY BUREAU. If your plan also includes Credit Features from Experian and/or TransUnion, the above verification process must also be successfully completed with Experian and/or TransUnion, as applicable. If verification is successfully completed with Equifax, but not with Experian and/or TransUnion, as applicable, you will not receive Credit Features from such bureau(s) until the verification process is successfully completed and until then you will only receive Credit Features from Equifax. Any credit monitoring from Experian and TransUnion will take several days to begin after your successful LifeLock plan enrollment.
