Second Chance Checking

Want an alternative to the high checking and services fees charged by other financial institutions? A Cross Valley FCU Second Chance Checking Account is your solution!

At Cross Valley FCU we believe everyone deserves a second chance. Our Second Chance Checking Option can help get you back on the right track. Second Chance Checking allows members who may have had problems handling checking accounts in the past, the ability to establish a checking account on a probationary status.

    Existing Members
  • As a member, if you pay an in-house charge off in full, you will be eligible for a Second Chance Checking account and/or debit card within six (6) months from the date the charge off was paid.
  • After the six (6) months, please note that you are responsible to inquire about this service.
  • There will be a $3 monthly fee charged for this service.
    New Members
  • As a new member with a paid closure from a different financial institution, you will be eligible for a Second Chance Checking account and/or debit card immediately upon new account opening.
  • There will be a $3 monthly fee charged for this service.
    Second Chance Checking Facts:
  • Second chance checking is only eligible to consumer accounts and does not qualify for Courtesy Pay.
  • If second chance checking remains negative for 15 days, the checking and debit card will be closed, and the checking will be charged off
  • Upon member request, an account may be reviewed for qualification for a free checking upgrade. To qualify for free checking upgrade, the Second Chance Checking must maintain a positive balance for twelve (12) consecutive months and have no NSF activity.
  • There will be no fees returned on a Second Chance Checking account.
